Atari to Add More Games to Atari 50: The Celebration Through Content Update

Are you an Atari fan? Perhaps you played and adored Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration? If either applies to you, then great news! Atari and Digital Eclipse have announced that twelve Atari 2600 titles will be added to the game through a free content expansion. This update will include homebrews and prototypes, as well officially released games, of course.

The list of games to be added to the library has not been revealed yet, but it’s a tantalizing addition to an already jam-packed game anthology. As if that’s not exciting enough, Atari and Digital Eclipse revealed this is only the first content update, with additional expansions arriving in the future. These additions will pack in interviews with industry titans, concept artwork, and even more games will be added to the already robust line-up.

The first free content update will launch on December 5, 2023, just in time for the holidays. If you’ve yet to play Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration and are intrigued by this awesome news, you can purchase a copy on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and GOG for $39.99.
