Escape By Spoon Revealed: First-Person Prison Break Fun
Paiband Studio is proud to introduce Escape By Spoon. This upcoming first-person escape simulator pairs suspense with absurd humor. Developed and published by Paiband Studio for a late 2026 launch on Steam, the game requires players to navigate a treacherous path to freedom using the most unlikely of tools. By digging through cell walls and into the mysterious earth below, inmates will discover a cartoon world filled with riches and lurking dangers.
The experience centers on a progression system where every successful run allows players to sell their findings and upgrade their gear. Drawing visual and mechanical inspiration from titles like Cuphead and Dave the Diver, the game offers a unique “one more horizontal” loop. As you carve deeper into the subsurface, the environment shifts from simple dirt to a surreal landscape. This proves the prison is never truly empty. Whether you are avoiding hazards or optimizing your digging route, the goal remains the same: survive the underground and claim your liberty.
What We Can Expect
- Dig your way out of prison using only a spoon
- Find valuables underground, haul them back, and sell them
- Upgrade your tools, carrying capacity, and survival options
- Manage light, sound, stamina, health, and inventory limits
- Evade stalker threats patrolling the prison and underground
- Distinct rubber-hose inspired visuals and expressive animation
My Thoughts
I caught the Escape By Spoon trailer before reading the press release, and my first thought was: “Oh neat! It’s Mouse for Hire meets A Game About Digging a Hole!” The fact that the press release actually shouted out the latter made my day. Since I loved AGADaH, I’m betting this dig/collect/sell/upgrade loop will be just as addictive. Check out the trailer below and let us know if you’re getting the same vibes!
