Bullet-Hell Action-Adventure Luna Abyss Set to Launch May 21 for PC and Consoles
Prepare to descend into the depths of the mimic moon in Luna Abyss, a narrative-driven action-adventure from developer Kwalee Labs and publisher Kwalee. Launching on May 21, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, this experience casts you as a prisoner named Fawkes. You are sentenced to explore a brutalist alien megastructure located deep beneath the lunar surface. Your primary mission involves recovering forgotten technology from a lost colony while under the constant watch of an artificial prison guard named Aylin. Because the centuries-old ruins are filled with maddening echoes and secrets, you must navigate forsaken chasms using fluid first-person platforming mechanics.
The gameplay challenges players to withstand an onslaught of corrupted souls and cosmic horrors. Specifically, you must master a variety of weapons to survive intense bullet-hell combat encounters. Every move you make brings you closer to uncovering the mysteries of the Scourge and the fate of the city of Greymont. Furthermore, you will need to sprint, jump, and dash through the abyss to discover your true role in this doomed world. Consequently, you will find yourself caught between a cryptic prophecy and your prison sentence as the voices of the abyss call to you.

My Thoughts
I have heard of bullet hell games and I have heard of first-person shooters. While they certainly exist, I have rarely seen a combination of both executed on this scale. Kwalee is about to gift us with what looks like an incredible experience featuring crisp graphics and intense gameplay to match a memorable story. The brutalist architecture of the megastructure creates a haunting atmosphere that really stands out. Plus, having Luna Abyss available on Game Pass at launch makes it incredibly easy for fans of either genre to jump in and see if they can survive the abyss.
