PlayStation Era-Inspired JRPG Full Circle Announced for PC and Consoles

Solo developer 2ndPlayerGames and publisher Deck13 Spotlight officially revealed Full Circle during the Indie Quest 2026 Showcase. This upcoming indie JRPG draws heavy inspiration from golden-era PlayStation 1 classics like Lunar, Breath of Fire, and The Legend of Dragoon. The developer beautifully combines nostalgic mechanics with a modern 2.5HD pixel-art style, fluid gameplay, and updated control schemes. Players can experience the game for the first time later this year, as the team will host a playable demo at Gamescom.

The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where mutated beasts roam the surface. To survive this gruesome threat, humanity fled to safety inside massive flying cities. Young heroes train their entire lives to brave the dangerous surface and gather essential resources for their floating homes. However, a routine mission beyond the safety walls changes everything. The group discovers hidden survivors, rival cities, and massive secrets that shatter their deepest beliefs. The game is currently in development for PC and consoles, and eager fans can wishlist the title on Steam today.

Build Your Party: Players can easily mix and match four active and four reserve characters. You will combine gear, character synergies, and unique skill trees to craft your ideal playstyle.

My Thoughts

They aren’t kidding when they say PS1 golden-era inspired! Full Circle takes me right back to my Blockbuster days, looking at games like Lunar on the shelves and wishing I liked turn-based JRPGs more. This title actually inspires me to give the genre another try. I will be counting down the days until its official release. The sheer variety of areas will keep gamers engaged as they uncover what happens next in this poignant coming-of-age story. I already added it to my Steam wishlist, but what about you?
