Nintendo Direct | June 9th, 2026

2026’s “Not E3” season is almost over, and we can’t wrap everything up for the start of summer without Nintendo’s latest Direct. We’ve got all of the trailers shown at the showcase below for your viewing pleasure.

Rhythm Heaven Groove

Rhythm Heaven Groove opened the show with the latest in the popular rhythm game series. This one includes over 80 mini games and even a turn-based rhythm combat system. There are even 30 cooperative and competitive games to play with your friends. It will be available on the Switch and Switch 2 on July 2.

Onimusha: Master The Way Of The Sword 

The newest title in the popular Onimusha series is also coming to the Switch 2. Preorders are available later today, and the game releases on September 25, 2026.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen

The next big title to be ported to Switch 2 is Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. It will make its way to Nintendo’s latest console on October 9, 2026 with a Switch 2 version. This expanded edition includes the base game and introduces the new snowy realm of Norgan, complete with unique monsters, armor, and an appraisal mechanic.

Stellar Blade

Stellar Blade is also coming to Nintendo. We don’t have a for sure date, but we know it will come out some time in 2026.

Orbitals

Games like It Takes Two and Split/Fiction have been incredibly popular in recent years, and it looks like other developers are taking note. Orbitals was shown in the past, but this closer look shows the cooperative gameplay that we can expect from this title. Look for it to be released on September 3, 2026.

Rayman Legends Retold

We already knew this game was coming, but we did learn that there are four new musical stages in the game. Look for this one to drop on October 1st, 2026.

Big Walk

This quirky-looking cooperative game is definitely something different. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen it, but it’s nice to know that it will offer cross-platform play. Look for it on Nintendo Switch on August 4th, 2026.

One Piece: Grand Gourmet

This is a management simulator where you create a restaurant in the One Piece universe. You’ll use ingredients familiar to the franchise to cook dishes for and with characters from the popular anime. It will be released on October 23, 2026.

Pokemon Pokopia

The popular title is getting a free software update that allows you to build underwater. It comes out in August 2026. There are also three expansion passes coming to the game in 2026 and 2027.

Fire Emblem: Fortunes Weave

The next title in the popular Fire Emblem series is called “Fortunes Weave”. There will also be a special edition called the “Dagdan Collection”. It will be released September 17, 2026.

Ninjala 2: The Uncharted Planet

This open-world action/adventure game looks like a mix of Sunset Overdrive and Splatoon all wrapped up into one game. It comes exclusively to the Switch 2 spring of 2027.

The DK Challenge

The DK Challenge is a new challenge-based collection utilizing games from across the Donkey Kong franchise. Collect coins and receive reward cards in this limited and timed release. It offers loads of mini games and will only be available through NSO. With a release window starting June 9, 2026 and running through September 1, 2026.

Donkey Kong Bananza DLC

Donkey Kong’s latest title is getting four waves of limited release DLC content featuring the Mario Bros. You can see what fun is in store for you in the trailer below.

Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble Survivaton

The makers of Vampire Survivors dropped a trailer for their next game, Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble Survivaton. This looks like the same formula to the massively popular title, but much more highly polished. It doesn’t have a specific date, but will release sometime in 2026.

Lords of the Fallen 2

This sequel to the well-received dark fantasy souls-like Lords of the Fallen is coming to Switch 2 and all other platforms fall of 2026.

Lies of P: Complete Edition

Lies of P: Complete Edition includes all of the DLC for the game and is coming to Switch 2. You can get the digital version of the game on August 6, 2026 and the physical version later in October.

Devil May Cry 5: Hunter Edition

Somebody get the marshmallows. Because Nintendo is bringing the fire! Well, they’re bringing Devil May Cry 5: Hunter Edition to the Switch 2 on June 23.

Muramasa: Revenant Blades

Nintendo delivers a side-scrolling action RPG epic from Vanillaware and Marvelous. With stunning 4K visuals, all-new English voiceover and localization, new modes and more. Muramasa: Revenant Blades comes to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch early 2027.

Xenoblade Chronicles Switch 2 Editions

All three games are coming to Nintendo Switch 2, each with 60fps, 4K docked, and 1080p in handheld. More details are coming at a later date, but we have release dates for each:

Xenoblade Chronicles

-Digital: later today, June 9, 2026

-Physical: July 30, 2026

Xenoblade Chronicles 2

-Digital: July 30, 2026

-Physical: October 1, 2026

Xenoblade Chronicles 3

-Both digital and physical: December 3, 2026

Xenoblade: Genesis

In addition to the updated versions of the first three games, Xenoblade is also getting a new title with the subtitle of “Genesis”. This allegedly  “marks a new beginning” for the series. We don’t have a definitive release date other than sometime in 2027. 

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort

Switch Sports Resort is back! This version of the game offers twelve sports in total: boxing, table tennis, archery, tennis, volleyball, bowling, basketball, golf, thumb wrestling, skateboarding, power cruising, prop plane, and jump rope. They really leaned into showing us how thumb wrestling worked. Preorders begin today, and it releases October 22, 2026.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds

The popular survival crafting series makes its way to Switch 2 on September 15, 2026.

Hello Kitty Partyland

Team up with your favorite Sanrio characters and jump into a lively collection of cute mini-games designed for fun with friends and family. Whether you’re playing solo, locally, or online, it’s packed with charm, competition, and customization. Hello Kitty Party Land is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch on Oct 29, 2026.

Starfox

We got another look at Starfox, which was announced earlier. There is a free demo that’s available starting today, so you can get an early look at the game right now! Otherwise, the full game releases on June 25, 2026.

Final Fantasy Resonance

In a big surprise, we’re getting a new Final Fantasy game. Resonance is a sprite-based JRPG with HD backgrounds. It includes characters from across the Final Fantasy universe with a new story. Check out the trailer, because it looks incredible. The game releases October 22, 2026.

PikuNiku 2

The upcoming sequel to PikuNiku has a strange charm and simplistic animation style. Meet new characters and journey through as you prepare to stop an evil plot. The game also apparently features an all-powerful potato. Look for it sometime in 2027.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World

Square Enix invites you to discover hundreds of monsters to scout, train, and battle alongside. Mix and match your favorites or create entirely new companions through synthesis to build your dream team. DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Withered World launches December 3, 2026, on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. 

The Duskbloods

The next title from From Software is The Duskbloods. We knew this was coming, but this gave us some additional footage. There is a closed network test coming this summer. Still no word on the actual release date.

Splatoon Raiders

The popular multiplayer game is getting a single-player experience in Splatoon Raiders. It looks equally charming and chaotic. Check out the trailer for yourself. It’s getting its own deep dive Direct on June 30th. The game itself releases on July 23, 2026 as does two new Splatoon-theme Joycons.

Deltarune

The 5th chapter of Deltarune has an official release date of June 24, 2026. Fans of Underdale will be excited.

Metaphor: Refantazio

This is a port of last year’s acclaimed release from the makers of Persona. It’s coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 on November 11, 2026.

Minecraft

The series that refuses to give up is getting a Switch 2 version. One key feature is that your worlds on the Nintendo Switch can be carried over to the Switch 2 for continuation. It will be available later in 2026.

Port Sizzle Reel

As Nintendo is want to do during their Directs, they showed a rapid-fire listing of upcoming ports. Here’s what you can expect on the Switch 2 in the future, and you can see it in the link below.

Kingdom Hearts Collection 1-3

Three titles from the beloved Kingdom Hearts series are coming to Switch 2 on October 8, 2026. There are also demos available later today, so you can check them out very soon!

Kingdom Hearts IV

One of the first big surprises of Nintendo’s Direct was the announcement of Kingdom Hearts IV. The animation style looks vastly improved from even the last game. It will be available on Switch 2 on day one alongside the other platforms, but no date was given yet.

Legend Of Zelda – Ocarina of Time Remake

The rumors are true! Ocarina of Time is getting a remake on Switch 2. We got a very small look at the game, but it was enough to get this writer excited. The best news is that it’s releasing sometime in 2026. More details will be announced in the future.
