Agent 47 Heads to the Tabletop in HITMAN: The Board Game

The art of the perfect kill enters the tabletop space with HITMAN: The Board Game. This title was developed by MOOD Publishing alongside IO Interactive, the studio behind the digital franchise. Launching its Gamefound campaign on April 30, 2026, this 1-4 player competitive experience distills the tension of the World of Assassination into a modular sandbox format. Players step into the roles of rival agents to navigate exotic locations and bypass high-tech security. To succeed, agents must eliminate high-profile targets using meticulous planning and surgical precision. Furthermore, the game features a modular setup where every target can appear in different locations. This design ensures that no two sessions ever feel the same.

The gameplay centers on signature mechanics like using disguises, creating “accidents,” and diverting guards. Each match lasts approximately one hour, providing a fast-paced challenge where players must outmaneuver both the environment and each other. In the base game, you will find four iconic locations and eight recognizable targets from the World of Assassination trilogy. Additionally, early backers who support the campaign within the first 47 hours will secure an exclusive 47-hour coin. Consequently, HITMAN: The Board Game serves as a creative expansion that captures the addictive DNA of the digital series for a physical audience.

What We Can Expect

My Thoughts

I have to admit that I have never actually played the Hitman video games, so my connection to Agent 47 is pretty non-existent. However, looking at the mechanics of this tabletop version, it looks like a fantastic board game in its own right. The idea of a modular sandbox where the targets and locations shift every time sounds like exactly the kind of variety I look for in a game night. I would still love to sit down with a group of friends and try to outmaneuver them as rival agents. Whether you are a fan of the franchise or just a fan of deep strategy, this one seems like it is worth keeping an eye on.
