In the game, players step into the shoes of Silviya Nebula. Tragically, her husband is murdered on their wedding night. As she searches for answers, she quickly becomes entangled in a dangerous web of conspiracies, manipulation, romance, and supernatural forces.
At the heart of the experience is the Emotion Palette. This unique mechanic allows players to choose specific emotions before selecting dialogue. Consequently, different emotional states unlock different responses, revealing new information and shifting how characters react. Unlike traditional visual novels with limited choices, this system can unlock up to 15 dialogue options within a single conversation. Therefore, players gain immense control over Silviya’s development. Every emotion chosen alters her personality and her standing with those around her, ensuring conversations rarely play out the same way twice.

My Thoughts
The press release for STARCULT: Night Twisted Age calls it a visual novel, but I would argue that the Emotion Palette gives it the feel of a classic choose-your-own-adventure book. Having multiple endings means I can be creative with my responses just to see what happens. The story sounds intriguing, so I think we have a winner here. I will be giving the demo a try.
